IDEAL STANDARD INTRODUCES CONCEPT AIR ARC, AS SLIMLINE DESIGN TREND EXTENDS IN THE BATHROOM

Finer Ceramic: Crisp basin edges gives an elegant, light refined look to the basins in line with the already popular Cube options

Thinner ceramics follows wider 'skinny' trend in consumer goods, with bathroom products becoming slimmer, mirroring thinner designs of mobile phones and TVs

Ideal Standard, the leading provider of innovative and design-driven bathroom solutions, has extended its successful Concept Air range with the launch of Concept Air Arc.

The new collection, which is now available in the UK, extends and enhances the already comprehensive Air range with a new basin shape and cistern options, characterised by its thin ceramics walls.

Ideal Standard's Concept Air collection was successfully launched at the KBB exhibition in Spring 2016 and created a real buzz with its new slim edged design and the huge array of choice, solutions and configurations the suite offers to the customer.

Its popularity to date follows the wider 'skinny' trend seen across other consumer goods markets, especially electrical items, including the likes of mobile phones, laptops, computers and television screens, which have all become thinner due to technological advances and in response to general consumer preferences.

HIGH-END SLIMLINE DESIGN TREND BROUGHT TO CONCEPT SUITE LEVEL

Concept Air was the newest addition and latest evolution of the hugely successful and ever-popular Concept range, developed by award-winning designer Robin Levien and his acclaimed team.

As the name implies, the Concept Air design is all about lightness and providing a combination of practicality and affordable luxury. It taps into the minimalistic trend for sleek and slimline interiors which can now be transferred throughout the household to include the bathroom, bringing this high-end design trend to the Concept range.

Concept Air showcases the evolution of the bathroom, incorporating lightness at every element of design. The range of ceramics, baths and furniture can be combined to give four very distinct looks for the bathroom in an array of sizes and finishes.

Research shows that 'D-shaped', curved basin shapes are still the most popular in the UK and the new modernity and lightness of Concept Air Arc takes this conventional rounded shape to the next level for 2017.

The new Air Arc range delivers a natural progression of the Arc shape within the standard Concept portfolio, with additional product options that mirror the fresh, light design of the already popular Cube basins.

With thin ceramic walls and shallower depths, the crisp basin edges offer an elegant, light and refined loo, whilst retaining the inner DNA of existing Arc and Sphere basins that has made the Concept suite so successful since its launch in 2008.

Leanne Martin, Head of Product at Ideal Standard, comments: "Air Arc is an exciting addition to our portfolio and with its slimline look and thin ceramics; it extends the wider trend for thinner consumer goods into the bathroom.

"The popularity of Concept Air since it was launched a year ago has been very pleasing; Air Arc represents the next phase of this suite.

"Taking into consideration the vast array of options in the Concept collection, the introduction of Concept Air Arc brings yet more strength in depth to an already extensive contemporary bathroom range offering limitless full bathroom solutions."

NEW OPTIONS

The Arc extension brings seven new SKUS to market, with five washbasin product options and two cistern options. The products are designed to work perfectly with the core pedestals and bowls within the Concept portfolio.

There are three washbasins in 60cm, 55cm and 50cm sizes; along with a 40cm hand rinse basin (and a 50cm semi countertop basin option) all with choices of full or semi pedestal. There is also a new semi-countertop basin which can be configured with furniture in six finish options.

The addition of Arc to the already extensive Concept Air collection ensures a diverse, high quality range that offers something for everyone, regardless of the size of a bathroom space, offering contemporary style regardless.

With its stunning vanity units, choice of drawers or open shelving, a stylish short projection basin unit for those smaller cloakrooms and a unique floor standing vanity unit with drawers, the versatile Concept Air range offers luxury design without the price tag.

The wide range of complementary furniture to accompany the ceramic options sees the availability of both floor standing and wall hung options. Demonstrating efficiency in function, flexibility and variety in style, the furniture is available with open shelves, or to keep your space calm there are soft close drawer options.

The Concept Air furniture range also comes with a choice of six colour combinations, from the subtle pairing of gloss and matt white to a luscious matt dark brown, along with light brown wood and light grey wood options.

The freestanding bath makes a stunning centrepiece - its gentle tapering shape provides perfect back support while the sloping rim supports the neck. The design allows the luxury of being able to position the bath anywhere in the room, from a corner to an alcove. To aid installation the bath comes in two pieces, with brassware and waste being easily accessible. The tap deck runs along the full length of one side of the bath, giving freedom to position fittings, along with stand toiletries on.

To complete the bathing range there is a shower bath, beautifully light in design while giving the versatility desired, the soft arcing backrest provides the ultimate in bathing comfort. The sleek, yet practical bath screen features a handy hinged access panel that enables you to turn on the shower before you get in without getting wet or overreaching.

All of the toilet bowls within the Concept Air collection are also fitted with the award-winning and revolutionary AquaBlade flushing technology - which is exclusive to Ideal Standard - and offers the best aesthetic on the market with superior hygiene, less splashing and noise reduction.
