A Fully-compliant Solution

As you’d expect from Armitage Shanks, the Markwik 21+shower panel fully complies with HBN 00-02, and has Regulation 4 approval.

The shower valve meets the requirement of NHS Model Engineering Specification-D08 for Type 3 valves and is certified to TMV3 standards, making it ideal for use across care homes, hospitals and nursing homes.

Easy installation and Maintenance

The unit is completely pre-plumbed with 15mm copper pipes and a built-in sequential thermostatic shower valve, so it can simply be mounted to the wall and connected using push-fit connectors.

Pipework extends all the way to the top of the panel for the top inlet connection favoured by most hospitals.

Space inside the panel also allows for lagging, should it be needed, and as the unit comes complete and ready to mount, there’s no need for Integrated Panelling System considerations.

In line with best practice, the pipework includes a hot recirculating loop to improve hygiene; compared with a loop contained within the ceiling, this greatly reduces the amount of feasible dead water in the system and cuts down installation time even further.

If a cold recirculating loop is needed, there’s space within the panel for the additional pipework. A unique built-in panel offers access to filters, regulators, check valves and isolation valves, for easy servicing to TMV3/D08 requirements.

Antimicrobial Finish Ensures Improved Hygiene

The shower panel outer shell is made from antimicrobial premium grade solid PVC.

It features stain, heat, fire, chemical and critically, microbe resistant properties.

The outer shell incorporates silver ion additive technology - a safe and proven treatment that inhibits the growth of bacteria and mould, and is hostile to viruses.

The silver ion is not just added to the shower casing as a surface treatment after thought, but is actually incorporated into the material of the outer shell.

This means the casing's antimicrobial properties can continue providing, long-lasting hygiene protection.

Designed for Flexibility

Markwik 21+ shower panels are available in 1500mm or 1700mm panel heights making them ideal to suit multiple typical NHS settings, based on a typically common room height of 2400mm, whilst meeting the ergonomic requirements of HBN 00-02: Sanitary spaces.

Recommended Shower Kits and Compatible Products

The Markwik 21+ shower panel is supplied without shower kits, hoses, rails and handsets to allow you to choose the most suitable option for your installation. However, we do recommend compatible Armitage Shanks shower kits and fittings. All fittings and accessories should be mounted adjacent to the panel rather than onto the panel itself.

Complying with CAT 5 requirements

Markwik 21+ shower panels can easily comply with all relevant regulations for healthcare environments, including Category 5 requirements.  The diagrams here show a CAT 5 installation for both 1500mm and 1700mm depth panels.

The recommended positions shown, limit the B9304AA handset from reaching the floor and allows for an airgap of greater than 25mm, when used in combination with a 1750mm maximum hose length. Please note other factors must also be considered for full CAT 5 compliance. Note the recommended position of the B1364AA hose retainer is based upon the following combination of SKU’s used in combination with the shower panel.
