Environmental and Energy

Introduction:

Ideal Standard will operate its business activities in an environmentally responsible manner and with due regard to our neighbours, employees, customers and the communities in which we operate, respecting at all times High Efficiency Standards with the aim of reducing its impact on the Environment, by establishing, implementing and maintaining a robust Environmental & Energy Management System. 

As a minimum, Ideal Standard requires all business units to be in compliance with applicable national, state, provincial and local laws and regulations and with any other standard to which the Company subscribes. 

The Management System must:

  • Be appropriate to the purpose and context of the risks concerning the environmental impact of the business. 
  • Provide a framework for setting strict Environmental objectives by building a process focused on the prevention of pollution and its impact. 
  • Integrate a sustainable environmental approach into all business activities and processes, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement with the aim to improve the Environmental Impact.
  • Promote a clear understanding of individual ownership and responsibility for a more proactive, focused and consistent participation. 

Environmental and Energy Principles: 

  • We are committed to actively working towards carbon neutrality. 
  • We promote our efforts to reduce all waste by using recyclable and sustainably sourced materials where feasible. 
  • We aim to prevent pollution and to continually improve energy efficiency in our process for long-term protection of the environments
  • We expect and require all employees to respect the company policies at all times and actively maintain and proactively drive an environmentally friendly approach.

Major areas of focus:

  • The leadership teams of all of our facilities are responsible for ensuring that the areas of focus are shared with each employee and maintained throughout our facilities. 
  • Implementation of this Policy is a primary management objective and the responsibility of every employee; appropriate communication and training is providing to the individual responsibilities. 
  • A 'risk-based thinking' approach is constantly kept in place at all times, with the aim of safeguarding the well-being of all individuals and of the environment. 
  • The Company processes are regularly monitored with appropriate tools and audits are regularly carried out to ensure compliance with the relevant requirements and with the Company values and objectives. 
  • The Environmental and Energy Policy is regularly reviewed to ensure it continues to be appropriate for the business.
